The climate change scenario data provided on this website was generated in a manner to ensure user convenience when carrying out climate change impact assessments in the field of application. The data was obtained through the Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF) data portal (https://esgf-node.llnl.gov/projects/cmip5/). This data was originally generated through phase five of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP5) and is a collection of coordinated global-scale multi-model data. Table 1 indicates the national-level data that is currently available. This national-level data was clipped from the aforementioned global-scale multi-model data using the NetCDF Operation (NCO) library.

The available national-level data has been configured to be used in conjunction with a R-based statistical downscaling package (R-package) that is currently being developed and will be launched soon. The R-package will be able to perform bias corrections, using the non-parametric quantile mapping method, on the downloaded data at individual stations using user-provided long-term observation data.

The number of NetCDF files total 4073 files, covering six variables: (1) precipitation; (2) max. temperature; (3) min. temperature; (4) wind speed; (5) relative humidity; and (6) solar radiation. There are also 29 Global Climate Models (GCMs) for the past (historical) and future periods (RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 scenarios) represented in the data as shown in Table 6.
